With its current facilities opened in 1985, the East London Mosque is, along with the London\'s Regent\'s Park Mosque, one of the busiest and oldest in the UK, with its roots extending back to the early 1900\'s. A new six-storey extension was completed in 2004, adding a library, créche, conference rooms, a gym and classrooms and increasing the capacity of the mosque to over 10,000 worshippers, making it one of the largest mosques in Western Europe. The mosque is also the home of the London East Academy, a private school for boys aged 11-16.

Very clean and spacious mosque that is conveniently located near public transportation. This is a very active mosque with many classes and often hosts large events and lectures. The mosque is close to Brick Lane and other excellent halal restaurants and is a great window into the East London Muslim community.

I go there quiet often. It is very large mosque and there are extending even more. Facility are great. They also have gym for Muslim brothers and sister. Wedding hall and many more. I would recommend any one to visit. Also this is the only mosque in the area has adhan on load outside Speaker.

Brilliant masjid. Excellent facilities, well organised. Due to the sheer size of the building it is amazing how they manage to keep it constantly clean. Tower Hamlets has the biggest population of bangladesi muslim outside of bangladesh, hence the musolis are predominately bangladeshis (sylhetis). All programmes are delivered in english, unless other wise stated. Good place to come and tour, symbolises the roots muslims have in the UK.

excellent masjid; although it is fairly far from me I have visited both for salat, and talks and events; although the brothers side is strongly Bangladeshi the sisters side is far more mixed so it is welcoming for reverts; I wish I could pick this mosque up and use it to replace the lacking ones in my locality
